LOGAN FOR U.S. SENATE CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES
THE CREOLE AND SPANISH LANGUAGE VERSIONS OF ITS
CAMPAIGN WEBSITE at www.logan2000.org

OPA-LOCKA (February 22, 2000) -- In an effort to reach out to more and more Floridians, U.S. Senate candidate Willie Logan’s campaign has introduced both a Haitian Creole and Spanish language version of its campaign website. Both versions contain information on Willie Logan and how voters may get involved with and participate in Logan’s campaign to succeed retiring Senator Connie Mack.

"This campaign is about full and open access for all Florida’s people," said Willie Logan, "So, we want to make it as easy as possible for the large and important Creole and Spanish speaking and reading populations of our State to access information about this campaign and also to provide input and feedback directly to me," said Logan.

Logan, 43, who has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 1982 and represents Northwest Miami-Dade County, announced last September that he would run for Florida’s open U.S. Senate as an independent candidate. Noting that the U.S. Senate currently does not include a single person of African American or Hispanic descent or elected outside the two-party system, Logan said he is running in part to "challenge politics as usual and the campaign system that requires a candidate to be a millionaire or spend like a millionaire in order to win." Logan said that when he is elected, he will bring the concerns of average citizens from Florida’s many diverse cultures directly to the floor of the U.S. Senate.

"As far as we know, we are the only campaign in the country and definitely in Florida’s U.S. Senate race with both Creole and Spanish campaign sites," said Sean Pittman, Logan’s campaign manager. "Most Democrat and Republican candidates pay a lot of lip service to including all sections of the population, but Willie Logan again has stepped out front, this time to ensure inclusion, easy access, and full participation for all Floridians," said Pittman.
